The pledge drive was a huge success. Thank you, to all of our supporters that called in or sent an email, all of our sponsors for backing us and sorting you out with some giveaways, and of course to CIUT for the past 5 years of access to their 15,000 WATTS of broadcasting power.
Make sure you all get your pledges in by May 1st to be included in not only the CIUT grand-prize draw, but also the DCS905 Radio prizepacks with goodies from our sponsors… We’ll be announcing on air the first week of May who’s taking the swag, so be sure to lock in!
Finally, tonight’s broadcast will be 100% Canadian Content. To show a little diversity we’ve put together a huge selection of DnB beats from only our great country. CanCon Represent.

I was given the opportunity to play MY favourite kinds of DnB on Toronto’s FM airwaves.
CIUT has been my home every weekend for the past 7 years, and the place that gave birth to DCS905. There is a huge list of people I would like to thank for all the support and love, because without them, I surely wouldn’t be doing this. Sharing the music is what gets me going, so I’m very proud to hold the position I do.
Check the show out tonite, 10pm-12am EST on 89.5FM CIUT. http://www.DCS905.ca/radio/

Knowledge Mag Interview
This post is syndicated from DCS905 Radio.
Our friends at Knowledge Magazine have posted an interview of myself (dubcomm) in preparation for the 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW this weekend!
Tell us about your first broadcast on CIUT. Did it go off without a hitch? HAHAHA. My first show was a nightmare. I had practiced every mix and every voiceover and every drop a million times, but when I showed up, everything hit the fan. [...]
Why is it that you prefer to mix live on the radio as opposed to pre-recorded mixes? IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT IN TORONTO!! We start the party every Saturday night, so given the opportunity to really ‘play’ on the airwaves creates a really cool connection to our listeners. If they want a reload, they call it. [...]
What is your shoe size (for the ladies) My latest pair of ultra-sexy all-black Nike Shox MR2’s are a[...]Check the CanaDNBa blog @ Kmag for the full interview HERE.

Chinatown Rook Out
Word of the Day
Definition: (verb) Come into the possession of. Synonyms: fall. Usage: The house accrued to the oldest son.
I got the keys to my new apartment today.
I’m officially living downtown Toronto, right in the core. Can’t get much more central than this! The bootleg district is right at my door. Cheap DVD’s, clothes, food, and just about everything else is right f’n there!
Over the next couple of days a crew of dedicated friends and fam are helping me get set up, possibly a paint job, and generally MOVED.
I would like to take this opportunity to send a massive shout-out & thank you to my brother from another mother, @ChefCreezle . This guy has put up with my bullshit for the last 2 months, and has yet to punch my face in. He is a hero.

Saturday April 10 2010 will be our official 5 year anniversary broadcast.
Tune in live from 10pm-12am EST for the most energetic, cutting-edge, aggressive and bass-face-inducing music we can arrange from Canada and abroad. Our resident lineup of Dubcomm, Faktah, Scott Free & Illweather will all be in the booth for a 2 hour audio assault in commemoration of DCS905’s 5 years of broadcast with CIUT, and in celebration of many more!We have a bunch of awesome giveaways lined up especially for our supporters as well. Our sponsor CIVILIAN has sorted us with a bunch of their 2010 apparel lineup, Young@Heart Jewelz has provided us with some custom bits for the ladies, and Adikshunz Tattoo linked us with some coupons for ink, piercing, & hairstyling… As per usual, we’ve got a quota to meet in pledgers, so your timely support is crucial to DCS905’s survival on the airwaves… We ask you only twice a year, and you know full well that nobody else provides the beats we do each and every week, so show a little love, do your part, and keep us working on Saturday nights! This date (April 10th) is also the ‘Friends of CIUT‘ pledge drive. Twice a year we reach out to you the listener for support in keeping the station alive. CIUT is home to staff and volunteer broadcasters that work 24/7 to provide the best and most original content possible on the airwaves, and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of their family. By supporting the station, and the DCS905 Radio program, you’re actively participating in the survival of Drum & Bass on community radio in Toronto. Do not let this important part of our culture die. Pledgers become Friends of CIUT, nabbing them a quarterly newsletter, entry in a grand prize draw, a tax reciept, and the satisfaction of doing something good. Depending on the amount you can pledge, there are gifts like hats & shirts going out as well… You can pledge online anytime HERE, just make sure you note the show you’re supporting is DCS905 RADIO. You can also download and mail in a form, HERE. Contact us below, or on twitter, facebook, myspace, or in person if you’d like to pledge in advance. It takes a little pressure off and lets us focus on the beats rather than calling on listeners during broadcast, so lets get this done now!

Do Over Day? Sounds good!
This post is syndicated from DCS905 Radio.
I can think of at least 3 things off the top of my head, that if given the opportunity, I would do over, and absolutely 110% come out on top… HOWEVER, we all know this is not possible.
So the good people at DoOverDay.ca have devised a plan to give us all another chance at glory, or not breaking that bone, killing that neighbors pet, messing up that performance, or slapping that douchelord boss a few years back… just for example…
The concept is fucking spectacular, but it might be a little tough to pull off…
Regardless, they’ve setup an online portal for ‘Do Over Day’, where schmucks like you and me can upload stories and videos about what we would do different… There are some pretty nutty people out there taking this pretty seriously, so it is definitely worth a look & a laugh. Check it out, get some shit off your chest, and send one of their semi-insulting e-cards to a friend.

This year is moving quick! A lot of big changes in, and evolutions of, Canadian DnB are taking place right before our eyes.
Bringing up patriotism, our athletes are currently competing at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC right now. It’s been incredibly exciting to see them take the podium and I’ve been glued to the set like most of the world to see where my country stands… I’m proud to be a Canadian, and I’m glad that the CANCON rules apply to the DCS905 broadcasts. Bottom line.

Fresh archives will be posted soon, along with some cool promotions we’ve gotten involved with… Keep watch to the site for details as they become available, and don’t forget to leave some comments & get involved people!

Lots of updates for you this week, so lets just dive in, shall we?
Dubcomm has posted his review of the Projek:Guv party @ the Kmag CanaDNBa blog. Check it HERE, or grab the RSS feed from the sidebar widget.
The featured photo has also been entered into a photo competition @ Lenzr.com … They asked for “Kids in action”, well, how about 800 of them dancing and partying at once?! Check the photo and click “10″ to show those toddlers who’s really having fun!
This coming Saturday is something we’ve been looking forward to for some time… Our own DJ ILLWEATHER will be holding down the freshly repaired booth @ 89.5fm, while Scott Free is at work with the Soul In Motion Crew @ ‘The Sigma Show v.2′, and Dubcomm is rinsing out the tekno @ ‘Good to the Last Bop’, the last-ever party in the BigBop/Reverb complex… It is going to be a busy, dnb filled evening… That is a promise.
So, lots to do, and lots more coming up as the seasons begin to change here in Canada. You know what to expect from us though, the Darkside of Toronto’s DnB.
