CanaDNBa : Knowledge Magazine

Following a recent conversion from print to online-only distribution, Knowledge Magazine has created a massive new portal for information on the global drum’n'bass community with a strong focus on up-to-date news, international features, new music, and the people that make up our scene.

I’ve been given the honor of representing Canada on the new Knowledge site via the ‘CanaDNBa’ blog, and it’s a project I’m really excited to be working on. Articles will be going up every week with my own personal take on things as they happen, interviews with the people who are pushing Canada’s DnB movement forward, event reviews from major Canadian cities coast to coast, and whatever else they’ll let me get away with.

CANADNBA MISSION STATEMENT:

Provide in- depth, involved, and well defined coverage of the ever-expanding Drum’n’Bass community in Canada. With a population just over 30million, Canada, the second largest country in the world, has a lot to offer the global Drum’n’Bass movement as it evolves and changes. With an insider’s view, we give our reader access to the producers, DJ’s, MC’s, and promoters that make up country’s scene. Coverage offering perspectives on and off the dance floor will shed light on Canada’s steadily growing D&B confederacy.

Expected in about 6 weeks, the crew @ Contaminated is following up their massive EP project with this release from Future Signal. 2 heavy hitting tracks with extremely hard-hitting basslines, menacing synth stabs, and spaced out atmospheres. Redco is a DJ and Producer from Uzhhorod (Ukraine) and an uprising player in the Ukrainian national major league of Drum & Bass. He has been releasing tunes since 2003, his music has been successful on radio stations and on TV, and he has played events all over the country and in surrounding countries, visiting cities like Moscow and Sankt Petersburg, performing on stage with many of the international heavyweights. After having released several albums and getting tunes signed to labels such as DSCI4, Contaminated and Trust In Music, Redco puts out his digital “Soulfunk” LP on Tilt-Recordings / T-Files. It contains a selection of 9 tunes, mostly dancefloor orientated. They cover different sounds and sub-styles ranging from oldschool Neurofunk to more contemporary forms of technoid Drum & Bass.
