Some of my D’n'B History…
From 2005-2008 I was working with a small group of friends as ‘Gun Recordings’. Mike SVS (aka RaggaScum) started it as a sister label to his very successful ‘Warlord Dubplate‘ imprint. With focus on techy, neurofunk inspired, high quality music from artists that were mainly unknown at the time, we launched in 2006 with 2 of my earliest tracks, Mirror & Synthfighter.
I have to give a lot of love to the Gun Recordings Family, they really supported me from the start.
We signed tracks from all over the world. It was a great way to cut our teeth in the industry and get an understanding of the incredibly tough & sometimes monotonous nature of putting out such a niche genre of music. While some restructuring in the management of Gun Recordings took place over that first year, the quality of music steadily improved and the tracks garnered some pretty solid attention.
Following a short hiatus during the management restructuring, we planned a double simultaneous release. In March of 2008, ‘The Hostage Situation EP‘ hit the virtual shelves at Beatport.com, and my own ‘Grenade Launcher EP‘ was put out as a 100% free download.
So, here is the free EP, and a direct shot to the entire catalog of Gun Recordings music, exclusively available at beatport.com
It was a shame that the project came to an end… But we’ve all moved on to bigger and better things. Regardless, the music is out there, and thats what we wanted to do from the get-go.

Here we fucking go!!
I’ll be getting right smashed @ DARKRAVE on Saturday. Come check out my first DnB gig since October last year! I have a ton of new material that will debuting, and i’m just generally pumped to tear the fucking roof off the place.
The party starts at 6pm Friday Jan.1, and ends at 10am Sunday.
Also with the new year, comes another website layout for DCS905 Radio. By updating once again I’ve gotten rid of the framework setup that was slowing me down, so editing and modifying stuff is much less time consuming… Which I’m ok with.
Top 10 Tech-DnB tunes of 2009
In my humble opinion, and no specific order, these 10 tracks are by-far, my favourites from the past year. Most are available now from whatever distro source, some free, some forthcoming… All in all, it has been an excellent year for tech-dnb. I don’t think any form of music has evolved as quickly… It makes me proud to be a part of such a borderless community, when music from all corners of the globe can come together, without language, and offer the same vibe.

Question me and I’ll laugh in your fuckin’ face. Question that and i’ll laugh even harder. I play music to keep myself out of a sanitarium. Its my release. You try to bring me some fuckin’ rules to it, and breakdown how the system works, when in fact you are calling out your own ignorance, because for the most part, DJ’ing is a solo venture… And if I’m told I can do this/I can’t do that/I’d look stupid doing this/don’t blah blah blah, I’m only going to revolt and laugh at you again.

While digging through some very old blog stuff, I came across this little gem of a quote. I’m not exactly sure what my headspace was when it came about, but I can feel the emotion while reading it back.
I have a lot of passion in my life. Maintaining the focus & drive that I once had can be a challenge, and looking back at the last few years of my life shows that in a very big way.
Less than a month until 2010. A bunch of monsterous ‘life’ stuff is happening right now… But my passion for music and technology remains strong. Standby for launch.
Gantz + Tekno DnB
Gunna be a pretty laid back weekend. I’ve got a bunch of studio projects on the go, so that keeps me in hibernation mode really well… Collabs with a number of artists are at various stages of completion, so 2010 is going to be a massive year of releasing music. I’m pumped about it.
Once the sound complaints start rolling in, I’ll be resting my spine on the couch with Steve & Wayne, taking in the sights of GANTZ. If you don’t know, I’m a bit of an anime nerd. No excuses, I just love the stuff, and this series is high on my list of recommendations… If you like monsters, big titties, crazy lazer guns, latex, teleportation, dead stuff, and generally well made cartoons, check it out.

Also, I’ve spent a good amount of time upgrading my sites, adding features, functions & content… Submissions to numerous feed replicators & ranking sites has made the online properties for DCS905 a bit more valuable, and of course, we’re spreading the tekno even further. Social Media Marketing is addictive
The DCS905 RADIO site has been completely overhauled. A lot of work has gone into the look of this site, and I think it will take us through another year without fail… Just make sure you’re using Firefox, because IE just can’t handle it.
