Twice a year @ 89.5fm we call on you, our listeners, to reach into your wallets and support something that is close to all of our hearts. CIUT is community radio. That means the programmers and people bringing you diverse and high-quality, often commercial-free entertainment 24/7 aren’t paid. It means that week in week out, there are dedicated and awesome people taking the time to share…

It is really important that you donate. The small amounts add up. In this case, every little bit does help. By supporting CIUT you’re making a charitable donation (the station is a registered charity) that not only enters you in some pretty incredible prize draws, but ensures that the programming you love stays on the air.

Former host and long-time friend to us @ DCS905 and the whole fam @ CIUT, Nick ‘Mista Mensa’ Wons has always brought a very memorable style to his performances… In late 2008 we left him in charge of the radio show for a couple Saturdays, and in true Mensa fashion, he pulled out all the stops and brought out some incredible Ragga-Jungle DJ’s & Producers.

The above video is a short clip cut from one of the sets he lined up, DJ K & Amadeus. One of our faithful listeners cut the stream and posted it on youtube way back when, and its reached 97,000 views! Saturday April 10 2010 will be our official 5 year anniversary broadcast.

Tune in live from 10pm-12am EST for the most energetic, cutting-edge, aggressive and bass-face-inducing music we can arrange from Canada and abroad. Our resident lineup of Dubcomm, Faktah, Scott Free & Illweather will all be in the booth for a 2 hour audio assault in commemoration of DCS905′s 5 years of broadcast with CIUT, and in celebration of many more!

This date (April 10th) is also the ‘Friends of CIUT‘ pledge drive. Twice a year we reach out to you the listener for support in keeping the station alive. CIUT is home to staff and volunteer broadcasters that work 24/7 to provide the best and most original content possible on the airwaves, and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of their family.

By supporting the station, and the DCS905 Radio program, you’re actively participating in the survival of Drum & Bass on community radio in Toronto. Do not let this important part of our culture die.
